Character Creation

Acceptable species of big cats include lions, tigers, leopards, & jaguars as the main species. Smaller cat species are welcome as long as sizing fits what would be in the natural world.

Hybridizing species will not be allowed given that the natural biology of these big cats does not allow them to breed naturally. Instead, there will be the chance of cubs to be one or the other of the species, gifted to the couple by the celestial spirits.

Mutations such as longer fangs, different tail types, lynx ears, and even horns are welcome. Horns must resemble natural horns in the wild, such as on a ram, goat, cow, or rhinoceros. Such mutations are purely aesthetic and do not give characters any advantage in the site world. There are a few exceptions to what is allowed including: wings, gills, and fish tails, which are not allowed on site. Any mutation does not give any benefits to combat or other gameplay aspects.

Colors and markings are limitless with exception to neons. Characters can appear like hybrids but are not, genetically, hybrid. Eye colors may range from any color or hue, limited to 3 colors per eye.

Every character on Luminaria possesses a unique telekinetic ability unique to the world which allows them to drink from cups, wear garments, and generally acquire things that are otherwise not natural to a cat. These items cannot be included in battle and do not have any effects other than decorative appearances.

Characters size and weights should reflect that of their natural species. Below is a chart that shows acceptable sizes and weights for several species that would be found acceptable on-site.

Life Stages

Cubs

newborn-11 months
Born helpless and blind, newborn cubs rely on their parents for survival. Often times they are born with spots that fade with age. By 10 months of age the cubs are fully weaned and can wander farther from their parents or pride. The essential skill of hunting is learned around 11 months of age but the cub is not able to survive on their own until around 2 years of age.

Adolescents

1 year-2 years
There is a transitional period for young big cats between adulthood and cubhood where they are not quite fully self sufficient and not able to reproduce. During this time young cats learn to hunt, gaining independence from the adults who have helped sustain them. At this time they begin to develop the skills and interests that will guide them through life, and may begin leveling up their constellation.

Young Adults

3-6 years
Often referred to as the "prime" of life where everything is good and ailments elude life. This period is when big cats are at their healthiest, most able-bodied period in their life. Fully self-sufficient and able to reproduce, they can do just about anything a full grown cat can do. Young adults are not able to hold higher ranks within prides or groups, for they are not seen as fully matured and able to hold positions of power.

Adults

7-10 years
Not as young and spry as they once were, there are times ailments may become more common between the years of 7-10. Still fit and able-bodied, this is often the time big cats are most tenured and able to hold higher ranks. Many times adults have maximized their constellation abilities and become mentors for younger cats. Adults can hold any rank.

Elderly

11-15 years
Life slows down, joints become stiff, and health issues become more prominent among the elderly. Tasks such as hunting and fighting become much harder, and big cats can no longer reproduce. Whilst the elderly can hold higher ranks still, they are often beat out of positions with power due to their inability to maneuver as they once could, often leading to the retirement of a quieter life.

Death

15+
By the time 15 years of life is reached everything has started to slow down. Movements become stiff and health declines rapidly. Big cats pass away into the Netherworld sometime within their 15th year of life and no later than the time they turn 16.
